Sprint ZTE Peel
Add a little 3G to your iPod!
News has just surfaced that Sprint will be debuting it’s new ZTE Peel in stores this weekend, November 14th, 2010. Encasing Apple’s iPod touch – the hardware will cost roughly $80.
You will be able to connect your Apple iPod touch to the Internet regardless of where you are. This portable, secure and wireless device is the first of its kind to be added to Sprint’s portfolio of Mobile Broadband devices.
The ZTE Peel will support Apple’s second and third-generation iPod touch, but will NOT support the fourth-generation hardware which was released in September.
Sprint price-plans for the ZTE Peel do not include roaming, and is comparable to AT&T’s iPad data plan which is month to month. For those users who go over the 1GB-per-month data cap, Sprint will be charging an additional 5 cents per megabyte.
The ZTE Peel comes with its own internal antenna that will access Sprint’s 3G network for Internet access. It will share data with the iPod touch without the need for any additional software on the media player. This internet connection can also be shared over Wi-Fi securely with WPA, WPA2 and WEP encryption.
